Planning a Boho Rustic Wedding

Updated: Sep 15, 2023

When planning a boho elopement wedding the secret is the more unconventional the better. When choosing your wedding venue think about what works with the rustic boho style, so typically it would be a barn, but think outside the box and have your ceremony and reception in a beautiful church ruin like this gorgeous setting. Of course if the weather is on your side then the subtle warm colours of the setting will really pop and add that extra magic to your beautiful wedding day. This gorgeous venue complimented my autumn colour palette beautifully, and was decorated with pampas and pumpkins, lanterns, stoneware and candles by me Two Become One Wedding Planner Ltd, and dried flowers and pampas from Nomad Floral and Event Styling, who also supplied the stunning bridal bouquet and flower crown.

Go for styling elements to decorate your venue like pampas, macramé, vintage glassware and furnishings, dried florals on a wedding triangle backdrop, stoneware filled with flowers and pampas and loose draping and macramé on a wedding arch when planning a rustic boho wedding. Choose suppliers who have worked with similar style weddings and see their previous work so you know they will understand your vision.

This beautiful cake was created by Primrose Cakes and attention to autumn colours with accents of boho styling with the lovely feathers and wood log slice gave it that extra boho touch. The cake complimented the natural colours of the church ruin walls. The autumnal theme continues with the lovely burgundy wedding stationery by Lines and Designs which had the special touches of styling with the jewellery, florals, stamps and pumpkins laid on the neutral backdrop of the alter floor nailing the rustic boho look perfectly.

Our beautiful bride model is wearing two stunning vintage wedding dresses by Poppy Perspective, the ivory crochet gown for the ceremony shots and an alternative black and gold gown can be worn for the reception to change up your look. Catherine Marche supplied the gorgeous hand made jewellery for this shoot and Maxine Pfander did a great job with the hair and makeup, with loose curls and autumnal shades on eyes and lips.

All photography was captured by the talented Karolina Auksoriute whose dreamy muted style of photography works beautifully with rustic boho weddings. When planning a rustic boho wedding ensure you choose a photographer who has shot this type of wedding before, look at their previous work on rustic boho weddings, as you typically wouldn't choose a photographer whose photography style is fine art light and airy for boho weddings.
